Warmer weather camping in March/April?

We live in the Sac area and looking to head somewhere warmer in March to camp other than Southern California. Any suggestions?

Greetings Traci,

This is a very good question, as it really is heading into camping season here in Northern California.

Looking at our weather today and what's predicted for the weekend, you might think the answer would be a resounding "No."

But, believe it or not, March and April (even into May) are often wonderful months to head for the coast! While we're still having some winter chill here in the Central Valley, places like Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Big Sur are often having beautiful sunny (and warm) days! And, of course, there are lots of camping opportunities all up and down the coast!

Just check the weather reports first, to make sure there's not a storm coming in!
