Chico Events and Festivals

I would venture to say there are more Chico events per capita than almost any city or town in all of California. Visit Chico California any day of the year and I can guarantee you there will be something going on in or around Chico that will delight you!

You'll find community participatory events put on by Downtown Chico, the local business association; and nationally acclaimed performances brought to Chico by California State University, Chico.

Then there are the plays presented by several local theatre groups; the performances by the North State Symphony Orchestra;

the farmers markets and the bike rides and racing; not to mention the nature festivals and the agricultural fests; the list goes on and on!

There's at least one actual event or festival every month of the year - and that does not even count the numerous plays, the diverse musical entertainment, the country and regional fairs, and everyday happenings like special programs at the local library or the Nature Center.

Not Enough Chico Events and Festivals for You?

If I included all the Chico Performances that are brought to town by Chico State; Joan Baez, Mikhail Gorbachev, the San Francisco Symphony...

And all the performing arts projects that are produced by Chico Theater Company and the Blue Room, among others...

And the musical venues hosted by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and the Senator Theater, et al...

And all the fine art events sponsored by Chico State, the Arts Council, and the Chico Downtown Association...

And all the arts and crafts festivals, and the literary evenings, and the ballet and symphony presentations...

I'm sure there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Chico events! And that's no exaggeration - there's always something going on in Chico!
